The University of Westminster Archive holds the records of the University's predecessor bodies, going back to the Royal Polytechnic Institution founded in 1838, and including Regent Street Polytechnic and the Polytechnic of Central London. We also hold the records of the Polytechnic Sports and Social Clubs. The collections cover a wide range of topics supporting teaching, learning and research.

In addition there are a number of collections deposited or donated to support research, notably in the areas of architecture and town planning including the Max Lock Archive and the papers of John Francis Turner.

This online catalogue allows you to search for information about the archives held by the University. It includes both collection level descriptions about the majority of our holdings and the accompanying detailed catalogues of many of these collections. Each collection/fonds level description gives a summary content as well as information about historical content and background.

Although new catalogues are added on a regular basis to this online catalogue, information about some of our collections is not yet available here. However, for more comprehensive information about our holdings, please see the summary guide to our collections on our web pages.
